ARRF was formed in the early part
of 1997 by a group of people dedicated to the preservation and ethical breeding of the
Rhodesian Ridgeback and were officially recognized by the CKC in 1998.Although still small in numbers, we are an active club, and have many
members all across Canada, dedicated to all aspects of owning Rhodesian Ridgeback, be it
showing, obedience, straight racing, and simple pet ownership.
We also hold an annual regional specialty
show, and several boosters (supported entry) shows every year.

In the early part of 1998 our club set out to
make sure the Rhodesian Ridgeback was protected in Canada with a breed rescue service. We have subsequently
affiliated with Rhodesian Ridgeback
Rescue Inc. and regard them as our official rescue program. This
affiliation gives us a much wider "reach" for potential
homes, experience of others doing the work, and the financial support of Ridgeback Rescue. Our
club is committed to Rescue and is proud to have begun the process of bringing Rescue to
Canada, nationwide!

ARRF is also keen to ensure that
the members of this club get together for fun as well as competition. An important part of
owning any dog is good socialization, so we arrange meetings often. Some include business
and some just a good time with our hounds!

We also have a barbecue or two
each year and
arrange walks in the country whenever we can.
